Oct 30, 2019: Here is the first drummer to become well-known among the American public. Chicago drummer, Gene Krupa, found fame in New York with the Benny Goodman Band. This video features Gene Krupa’s band as it appeared in a movie. Gene Krupa plays an interesting solo on the steam pipes in a ship’s boiler room. The solo starts around 4:00 minutes in.
